D. Billy: Site Interventionist

D. Billy is on a mission to bring new life to a decayed urban landscape, one site intervention at a time. He walks the streets of Brooklyn, searching for sites to activate, abandoned artifacts of the urban landscape that demand interpretation and artistic intervention. To most, an old A/C unit is an eyesore; to D. Billy, that A/C unit is begging to be given new life as a cartoon TV screen. An old bell, long ago silenced, is given a new voice once D. Billy adds comic sound effect lettering. This short experimental documentary was shot in Brooklyn in the Winter of 2008. The film seeks to give the audience insight into the imagination of an artist and follow him through his artistic process.
