Now Playing

USA | 2013 | 111 Minutes | Jason Reitman

In this moving new drama from Jason Reitman (Up In the Air) a single mother (Kate Winslet, in a Golden Globe nominated performance) and an escaped convict (Josh Brolin) develop an unexpected connection over a long Labor Day weekend.

Based on the novel by Joyce Maynard, Labor Day is a touching portrayal of human vulnerability and what it means to learn to love. Adele is a depressed single mother. Her 13-year-old son Henry struggles to be the man of his house. While on a back-to-school shopping trip, they encounter Frank Chambers, a troubled man clearly in need of help. After taking Frank into their home, Adele and Henry discover that he is an escaped convict. Over the course of a weekend spent together, the three find their lives unexpectedly and permanently changed.
