About the Film
Lust, Caution recently won the Golden Lion at the 64th Venice Film Festival, the second time Lee has won the top prize at Venice in the last three years. It is a startling erotic espionage thriller about the fate of an ordinary woman’s heart, it is based on the short story by revered Chinese author Eileen Chang, and stars Asian cinema icon Tony Leung opposite screen newcomer Tang Wei.
About the Filmmaker
Ang Lee was born in Taiwan. He studied theatre at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and film production at New York University. A number of his films have premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival. His films include Pushing Hands (1992), The Wedding Banquet (1993), Eat Drink Man Woman (1994), Sense and Sensibility (1995), The Ice Storm (1997), Ride with the Devil (1999), Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), which won four Academy Awards including best foreign language film, Hulk (2003), and Brokeback Mountain (2005) which won three Academy Awards including best director.
