Song of the New Earth

Now Playing

Seattle filmmaker Ward Serrill (The Heart of the Game) follows Tom Kenyon, a scientist, shaman, and singer (with a four-octave vocal range) with a dazzlingly unique mission–to integrate modern science and ancient mysticism through sound.

As a young man, Tom Kenyon was pursuing a career in country music when he began to experience mystical visions that included a series of encounters with interdimensional beings who instructed him to embrace the shamanistic. This experience lead him to his own scientific research into the effect of music on the human brain, then using his unique four-octave range to craft a distinctive and compelling style of New Age music that has earned a worldwide following.

Song of the New Earth follows Kenyon's journey from the stage on Broadway, to giant caves in the south of France, the golden-chandeliered symphony halls of Vienna, and finally to the snowy peaks of Tibet for a fascinating foray into the mind, teachings, and travels of a modern-day guru. One needn’t be a believer to be compelled by the results.
