A 3D animated adventure about a fantastical society of forest guardians and the girl who helps them save the world, Epic is part action-romp and part whimsical comedy. Based on William Joyce's children's book "The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs", the story is brought to the big screen with the voice talents of a star-studded cast, including acclaimed actors Amanda Seyfried and Christoph Waltz, as well as musical powerhouses Beyoncé, Steven Tyler, and Pitbull. Seyfried plays M.K., the teenaged daughter of a professor studying the warriors of the forest, called the Leafmen. M.K.'s search for her missing father leads to her to join the Leafmen and a rag-tag group of allies against the villainous Boggans in a war between the forces of good and evil, a conflict with repercussions for her own world. Through it all, the animation impresses, from the quirky details of its characters to the sumptuous, jewel-like scenery of the secret forest world. Ultimately the biggest success of Epic is it's focus on character with a great script that allows it's star cast to shine, transporting the audience into a world of spectacular fantasy.
