An intricate and deliciously twisted tale of fractured fate, Jump traces the lives of several characters whose paths weave and collide in Derry, Northern Ireland, on a wildly eventful New Year's Eve filled with fast talk, wild coincidences, and comic intrigue. Eddie Kelly is missing after having run afoul of local crime boss Frank Feeney. Eddie's brother Pearse will stop at nothing to uncover the truth about his brother's disappearance—and neither will Feeney, who sends hired thugs Ross and Jack to find Eddie and the large sum of money he quite possibly stole. Frank's spoiled daughter Greta, bedeviled by a sense of purposelessness in life, picks tonight to end it all by jumping off the Derry Peace Bridge, only to be interrupted by her father's goons with a belligerent Pearse in tow. Meanwhile, Greta's best mates, Marie and Dara, get caught up in trouble of their own when they have to deal with the aftermath of a fateful car accident. What starts as a struggle of wills evolves into a complex, wildly inventive, and occasionally giddy mix of crime caper, star-crossed romance, and fateful morality tale.
Kieron J. Walsh has made films for the BBC, Working Title, Channel 4, Granada, and RTE. In 2001, he directed his first feature When Brendon Met Trudy, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Jump is his second feature film.
