After his numerously awarded fiction short films, Mañana no es otro día, En el hoyo and Llévame a otro sitio; Martín wrote and directed the feature documentaries Generación perdida? and Ni vivos ni muertos, both comissioned by "Documentos TV" (TVE, Spanish National Network), the oldest documentary program in Spain. He also wrote and directed the independent documentary La isla durmiente, which was awarded at both the Barcelona and Lyon Film Festivals. Currently David Martín is involved in various projects, while he prepares the production of his first feature, recently selected by Meditalents and shortlisted for the X Julio Alejandro Screenplay Award.
