Gideon van der Stelt was born in 1991 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and studied audiovisual arts at the prestigious Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. His work uses elements from urban environments and daily life, congregating them into immersive works. Van der Stelt currently lives and works in Rotterdam.
