In the mid-1980's, Mothersbaugh began to write music for commercials and television projects, including the memorable theme song and underscore for Pee-Wee's Playhouse. He has since become one of Hollywood's most respected film composers, with more than 70 film and television scores under his belt. He created the music for all of Wes Anderson's films (Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou). Other feature film scores include Thirteen, Welcome to Collinwood, Happy Gilmore, 200 Cigarettes, The New Age, Lords of Dogtown, The Ringer and most recently, How To Eat Fried Worms.
