As Pacific Northwest filmmakers can attest, it’s difficult (if not impossible) to make a living making movies. The local filmmaking community prides itself on the artistic independence that comes from living outside the Hollywood fray. With the recent adoption of the production tax incentives and the dawn of the low-budget indie, the local film community has the opportunity to emerge as a compelling and dominate force on the national stage. Some of the most interesting independent films are coming from the Northwest – but the real question becomes are we ready for national attention? Join us for a bare-fisted debate about what’s right and what’s wrong with the local filmmaking industry.

The SIFF Cinema box office opens 1/2 hour before the first show of the day and is located at 321 Mercer St. Seating is guaranteed until 10 minutes prior to screening. No late seating.

2010 Dinner & A Movie Ticket Will Call
Tickets for the 2010 Dinner & A Movie series at Volterra will be available on the day of the event at the Volterra Drawing Room in Ballard.
