Events/Northwest Production Summit
SIFF, in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Film and Music, WashingtonFilmWorks and the Washington State Film Office, is launching the First Annual Northwest Production Summit at the 2008 festival. Held June 12-15, this Summit is designed to help secure the position of SIFF and Washington State as an industry destination where creativity flourishes and valuable business is conducted.
The summit will include:
A Symposium
The centerpiece of the Summit will be an intimate – invite only - three day symposium designed to introduce industry leaders in the independent film world, including the creative minds of directors and producers, as well as the business savvy of agents, financiers and entertainment lawyers to Washington’s triple threat of film, music and technology.
A Mentorship Program
In partnership with IFP/Seattle, a mentorship program has been established in which five filmmakers, selected through a competitive process, will be included in some of the symposium events, as well as have one-on-one time with our guests to ask questions, talk about projects and gain valuable advice from these industry leaders.
To find out more about applying for the mentorship program, go to www.ifpseattle.org/events_summit.htm
Summit Panels
Our community will be able to witness the creative and savvy industry guests in action when they participate in the following forum panels on the business of film.
