Alone in Four Walls
“They’re animals, not children.” Alexandra Westmeier’s doc examines Russian youth serving sentences for crimes ranging from theft to murder. Initial sentiment for their stories is counter-balanced with the perspectives of those who have been affected by their crimes. As the children are interviewed, their hard exteriors break, revealing the repressed human instincts struggling within each child’s speech and mannerisms.
