In the Land of the Headhunters
In 1914, famed photographer Edward S. Curtis produced this melodramatic, silent epic story of forbidden love and war set before European contact. The film had a gala opening at the historic Moore Theatre in Seattle in December 1914. As part of The Moore Theatre’s centennial anniversary, The Burke Museum, Seattle Theatre Group and SIFF will present a newly restored version, which will be accompanied with the original orchestral score, and a performance by descendants of the original Kwakwaka’wakw cast.
