The Answer Man

Who is Arlen Faber? He's the reclusive author of Me and God, a best-selling spirituality guide that changed the lives of an entire generation. Still the question remains: Who is Arlen Faber? Despite selling millions of books, it’s been years since anyone except for his one-time editor has seen the reclusive, cantankerous author. On the eve of the 20th anniversary of his still wildly popular book, Arlen is still sought after as the man who has all the answers. Arlen's life collides with Elizabeth (Lauren Graham), a single mom raising her seven year-old son, and Kris (Lou Taylor Pucci), a young man fresh out of rehab who is searching for meaning. Writer-director John Hindman’s feature film debut genially grapples with all the large questions of existence—Why am I here? What should I be doing? Both Elizabeth and Kris are hopeful that Arlen has the answers, but the truth is, he hasn't got a clue.

The Answer Man, May 27, 2009

    By Otto Von Nghiem

“A solid effort as a Hollywood romantic comedy. Moments of clever dialogue and believable performances keep this otherwise anti-climactic story watchable to the end. Shaving 15 minutes of extra scenery would have earned it another star. A decent dvd rental for a rainy night in February.”

The Answer Mans Wanes, May 27, 2009

    By Madame Nghiem

“This film was entertaining. There were a few dry spots in the acting. That would be made up by some good one liners. Not one I would most likely watch again, due to the length. Loved the little boy in this. ”

Funny and Beautiful, May 28, 2009

    By Rick Silverstein

“I loved this movie. The acting was great. Especially form Lauren Graham and Lou Pucci. Not many movies out there are able to combine romance, sarcasm, theology, and spirituality into one film. I went in expecting a comedy (which I got) and I left with a whole lot more. Including some well earned” … full review

    Perfectly Pleasant, Jun 11, 2009

    By Mimi Noyes

“This film was, in short, perfectly enjoyable. Not brilliant or amazing, but interesting and entertaining with a few performances that I really enjoyed. Arlen Faber wrote a book called Me & God that managed to turn the world on its ear, becoming a huge bestseller across the globe, asking hard” … full review
