This special tribute event will include the presentation of the Seattle International Film Festival Award for Outstanding Achievement in Acting, an onstage interview with film clips from her career and the opportunity for answering questions from the audience followed by a screening of Terrence Malick’s broodingly beautiful Badlands.
Director William Friedkin arrives at SIFF this year with the west coast premiere of his new, provocative black comedy, Killer Joe, where he will be presented with the Seattle International Film Festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The evening will include an onstage interview and film clips from his career preceding the film with a Q&A session following the film screening.
Join SIFF for a special dinner to celebrate our 2012 tribute guests Sissy Spacek and William Friedkin. The dinner will take place at Pravda Studios on Friday, June 8, at 7 pm and will be prepared by James Beard Award-winning chef, Thierry Rautureau of Rover’s and Luc Restaurants in Seattle. A limited number of tickets for the dinner are available for purchase.

Thursday May 17 at Seattle Center’s McCaw HallThe 38th Seattle International Film Festival will kick off with Your Sister's Sister, written and directed by Seattle’s Lynn Shelton (Humpday) and starring Emily Blunt, Rosemarie DeWitt and Mark Duplass. The Opening Night Gala will take place at Seattle Center’s Exhibition Hall immediately following the film screening, with complimentary cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
