Naturalist Burton Hoary hosts a survey of the toxic landscape known as the ’Acrid Plain,’ peopled by the masked descendants of the human race. This chapter focuses on the Harvesters, their obscure practices and the perils they face.

Director Bio
Jonathan Ashley grew up in Arizona, before moving to the east coast to pursue filmmaking and the arts. Notes from the Acrid Plain with Burton Hoary Vol. 7 is Jonathan’s final thesis project from NYU film school. It is the second (not the seventh) in a series of post-apocalyptic faerie tales involving masked creatures. Both short films feature Ashley's wife and chief collaborator, the performer Meghan Jones.

Ashley aspires to make (at least one) feature film. But if it doesn't work out, he'll give up the dream and become a full time illustrator. Or maybe make a graphic novel...
