Panelists expected to include:
Bryan Campbell has been directing independent films, music videos and commercials for almost 10 years. His music video for Sadistik's Searching for Some Beautiful was a 2011 Aesthetica Short Film Festival Official Selection, and his short film, The Bond, won Best Narrative Short at the 2014 Seattle True Independent Film Festival. Previously, Bryan has worked on such Northwest projects as Megan Griffith's Lucky Them, Lynn Shelton's Touchy Feely, and the third season of "Portlandia," starring Fred Armisen (SNL) and Carrie Brownstein. Bryan's short film, Big Boy, has played on three continents after World Premiering at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival.
Laura Good programs both feature and short films for the Seattle International Film Festival. She also programs for TIFF Film Circuit, the outreach division of the Toronto International Film Festival and curates the year round Short Cuts Monthly series at TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto. Good has contributed to the short film programming of numerous international film festivals including the Hamburg Short Film Festival, Temecula Film Festival and Kansas City Film Festival, and has sat on panels and/or juries at festivals and conferences such as the Palm Springs ShortFest, TIFF's Canada's Top Ten Film Festival and the Art House Convergence in Association with Sundance Labs.
Ron Najor's first produced independent feature film I Am Not A Hipster was an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival in 2012. Short Term 12, which won both the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at SXSW in 2013, is his follow up feature. Short Term 12" was selected to be on over 30 top-ten lists for 2013 and garnered a Gotham Award for Best Actress for Brie Larson and an Independent Spirit Award for Best Editing. Ron recently directed/produced American Baghdad a short documentary that will world premiere at SIFF then go on to AFI DOCS.
Moderator: Anna Sampers has 7 years of experience as the Grant Writer & Shorts Programmer for the Milwaukee Film Festival in Milwaukee, WI. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Anna received her BFA in Film, with a double minor in Film Studies and Spanish. Anna is also an accomplished, award-winning filmmaker whose work has screened at the Wisconsin Film Festival and the Ivy Film Festival, among others.
