How did you share films that you loved with others? What role do film festivals play? Hear from Gemma Gracewood (Letterboxd), Lilly Riber (MUBI), and Lela Meadow-Conner (Film Festival Alliance) on how their teams built, grew, and are able to maintain interactive film communities. Gemma Gracewood (Letterboxd / she/her) is the Editor-in-Chief of Letterboxd, the social network where film lovers across the world keep track of, curate, and share their taste in film. As a member of a tight and passionate team, Gemma’s role spans editorial and feature coverage, content strategy, community development, and ensuring that Portrait of a Lady on Fire fans can rate the film in flames, not hearts. A producer, writer and director with a strong background in publicity and audience strategy, Gemma is a champion of her native New Zealand screen industry, where her production credits encompass film, television and online series—with a bent towards arts, music and comedy. She has also toured the world in a novelty covers band, worked for the Labour Government, and is Deputy Chair of the NZ Comedy Trust.

Lela Meadow-Conner (Film Festival Alliance) is Executive Director of Film Festival Alliance, and Founder of mama.film, a village – at the crossroads of art & advocacy – where storytellers, changemakers and nurturers come together to champion humanity through a maternal gaze. She's a co-founder of the Tallgrass Film Association, and has consulted for various film festivals. She currently serves on the board Vidiots Foundation, as Co-Producer on the forthcoming documentary Chasing Chasing Amy, and as Executive Producer on the web series "Quarantine, I Love You" and the Feminist Foremothers podcast. 

Lilly Riber (MUBI) is the VP of Global Marketing at MUBI, a curated subscription-based streaming platform that offers an ever-changing collection of hand-picked films as well as a film database, an editorial publication. Lilly currently oversees marketing for MUBI globally, which encompasses all digital, growth, brand, and local marketing. She manages strategic development and execution of all product and content marketing initiatives, paid acquisition, social media, partnerships and analytics. Prior to MUBI, Lilly was the Marketing Manager at Bleecker Street. She has also held marketing positions at Havas, NBCU, and OMD. Lilly holds an MBA in Business Administration from NYU Stern School of Business.
