Starring You

SIFF believes in film's unique power to share original stories, diverse perspectives, and rich emotional journeys. When we only see and hear about certain identities in the media, we run the risk of thinking of those identities as "normal". But what happens to the people whose stories we don't get to see? People who are rarely represented in mainstream media can find a home here on our screens during festival and throughout our year-round cinema. We are excited for audiences to have the chance to see themselves in these characters and also challenge their preconceived notions.
