From the director Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Birdman) comes one of the year's most acclaimed films, an immersive adventure tale about a frontiersman (Leonardo DiCaprio) who is brutally attacked by a bear in the wilderness and must struggle to survive after being left for dead by a villainous member of his party (Tom Hardy).

In 1823, on an expedition in the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass is mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass begins his struggle to survive the wilderness – and find redemption.

★★★★  “DiCaprio's performance is an astonishing testament to his commitment to a role. The frontier...is a pitiless place that inspires astonishment and a kind of reverence at what Iñárritu and DiCaprio have accomplished here.’ - Soren Anderson, Seattle Times
