Acclaimed artist Tom Sachs and his team created their own intricate, handmade space program to send two female astronauts to Mars during a unique live performance piece at New York’s Park Avenue Armory. A Space Program not only chronicles this historic event, but provides an intimate, humorous, first person look into Sachs’ studio and methods.

For Space Program 2.0: MARS, Tom and his team built an entire space program using the philosophy of bricolage – constructing their program completely from scratch using limited available resources – fully creating the experience of sending two female astronauts to a Mars. Their mission is the answer to humankind’s ultimate question, “Are we alone?”
