January 31 - February 6, 2014

This audience favorite at SIFF 2013 returns for an exclusive engagement! French director Jan Kounen (Dobermann) mixes the intrigue of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo with the mystery of Memento for a tale of diamonds, dames, and killer storks.

While following the migration of the storks, a young ornithologist ends up dead high up in a stork's nest. This sends his partner Jonathan Anselme (Harry Treadway) down a path leading to Bulgarian gypsies, an Israeli kibbutz, and the confines of the Central African jungle, slowly revealing a deadly secret and the blurry, terrifying memories of his past.

Based on the eponymous novel by best-selling author Jean-Christophe Grangé, Flight of the Storks was originally produced as a French mini-series, but powerful enough to come to cinemas as a feature film. From a chilling turn by Rutger Hauer, through the many twists and turns, the story builds to a terrifyingly satisfying climax.
