June 28 - July 4, 2013

Investigative reporter Jeremy Scahill sheds light on the covert wars sponsored by the United States government, including drone strikes, night raids and government-condoned torture.

Director Richard Rowley takes viewers into a real-life "heart of darkness" with this scathing indictment of United States military policy. He follows Scahill (author of the international bestseller Blackwater) behind the lines in America's covert war operations, from Somalia to Yemen to today's ongoing struggle in Afghanistan. Tracking down the CIA agents, military generals, and Special Forces operators, many of whom have never gone on the record before about their top-secret activities, the film also chronicles the history of the secret fighting force of the Joint Special Operations Command. As featured in SIFF 2013.

"Astonishingly hard-hitting... jawdropping... renders the investigative work of journalist Jeremy Scahill in the form of a '70s-style conspiracy thriller." - Variety
