"Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s latest film is a chilly and mystifying expression of a modern malevolence which hangs over our lives—like a cloud, if you will—worsened by constant digital connection." —Kambole Campbell, Empire Magazine

An internet genius who perpetuates fraudulent online sales fights off a gang of oddballs who want to kill him with guns they hardly know how to use. Part thriller, part comedy, and part personal tragedy, the film portrays Ryôsuke, a loner who gambles with selling both legitimate and fake items online to suckers for vast profit. But both his seemingly clueless girlfriend and his simple country assistant are hiding deeper secrets.

In an effort to escape a large band of internet critics, he uses some of his profits to move into a beautiful, remote country home with his girlfriend. But this does not stop the virtual and literal attacks, climaxing in a warehouse shootout as sordid aspects of the characters are revealed.

Director Kiyoshi Kurosawa (not related to the famous Akira Kurosawa) is a veteran director of many thriller, horror, and dramatic films (Cure, Tokyo Sonata). Here, he’s mounted a dialogue on the growing methods of small-time capitalists to thwart Japan’s increasingly unfair economic system. Well written and acted, this internet heist film is wonderfully tense and will hold you to your seat until the end.
