The nation of Qatar has a street cat population equal to the entire human population of the country – and it continues to grow! Disease is rampant, and local adoption is rare. When flight attendant owner of Milwaukee’s Sip and Purr Cat Café’s Katy McHugh learns of the feral cat crisis in Doha, Qatar, she unites with a network of multinational underground animal rescuers to create a brave and unsanctioned plan to fly 25 cats from Doha back to Wisconsin for adoption. Along the way, the film introduces unforgettable feline personalities—Penelope, Goose, and Dr. Garfield—who each have a unique story of survival. Director Mye Hoang follows McHugh through the Qatari streets as she navigates shelters, construction zones, and government restrictions, with her mission becoming a race against time. Heartwarming and urgent, 25 Cats From Qatar is more than a rescue adventure—it’s a testament to compassion, grit, and the power of ordinary people to spark change in the fight for global animal welfare.
