Stage to Screen: Adapting Plays for Film

SIFF Filmmaking Camps

For students excited to explore taking a story from stage to the screen, this camp will teach students how to adapt a short play into a film, incorporating skills like storyboarding, character acting, costuming, cinematography, and editing. Co-lead by an experienced SCT teaching artist and SIFF Filmmaking instructor, this weeklong camp experience will invite students ages 9-11 years old to turn theater into film both in front of and behind the camera. The week will culminate in a film festival at the SIFF Film Center on Friday afternoon at 3pm to invite friends and family to enjoy their camper’s work.
