The ancient world of wine centers on the lands which border the Caspian, Black, and Mediterranean Seas, with Armenia being at the epicenter of historical vinification. Now resurgent following a period of stagnation in the past century, exciting wines made from native varieties are being produced with modern knowhow, by passionate renegades who produce them by taking extraordinary risks during uncertain times.
This latest film in the franchise stars an Armenian father and daughter, along with familiar personalities from past SOMM films. Emotional and harrowing, the story honors both the vineyard homeland, and the passion of the families who work to bring the wines to life.
