Cuba and Alaska are frontline medics in the war in Ukraine, risking their lives to save others while forging an unbreakable bond. When Alaska is critically injured in a Russian drone attack, the two are forced onto separate paths—Alaska into grueling rehabilitation, and Cuba away from the front lines, where she launches a bold fashion and art project inspired by futuristic female warriors and Ukrainian embroidery in Paris, and begins a relationship with a fellow soldier back at the front.

Juxtaposing the brutality of war with moments of creativity, intimacy, and release, Cuba & Alaska is a gripping portrait of resilience and camaraderie. As their stories unfold, questions of identity, womanhood, and survival in wartime come sharply into focus for both of them. Through stylized filmmaking and editing, raw helmet-cam footage, and a driving rock soundtrack, the film captures both the chaos of conflict and the humanity that endures within it—two women holding onto hope for a life beyond war.
