SIFF Book Club
Opens October 11, 2026
The written word has provided inspiration and material for film adaptations since the dawn of celluloid, with Georges Méliès capturing practical magic in Cinderella (1899). Over 125 years later, the joy (and at times, disappointment) we feel when our favorite novels are depicted on the screen is an experience we continuously and tirelessly come back to.
Welcome to SIFF Book Club, a bimonthly screening and meetup that combines bookworms and cinephiles. You’re given two months to pore over the book before joining us for a Sunday afternoon screening of its most acclaimed adaptation. Want to watch the movie but didn’t read the book? Join us anyway!
Every screening partners with a local bookstore, who’ll table in the lobby with book recommendations to supplement the current Book Club title. After the film, we’ll gather at The Traveling Goat to have an informal Book Club discussion.
Curated by Claudia Glenn, Rhys Iliakis, Shelby Smout, and Jessica Vangel.
