In pursuit of his first big break (and, more importantly, the promise of a Netflix deal), young documentarian Sam agrees to meet with the aristocratic Lady Isabella at her imposing country estate, Ravenhyde Hall. However, even he is shocked by the immense scope of her patrician pompousness and eccentric behavior. Obscenely self-absorbed, she describes herself as "the aristocracy's answer to the Kardashians". Her envisioned vanity project, for which she wants Sam to film the making-of, entails an ill-conceived multimedia performance art showcase to debut at the Stately Stars, a local talent show competition for youth held annually at the Hall. Sam agrees to her proposition, sensing a ripe opportunity to skewer Lady Isabella's artistic pretensions, presenting her creative endeavor as nothing more than privileged self-entitlement. And then something unseen and quite strange begins to happen. Sian Clifford, who played Phoebe Waller-Bridge's sister in "Fleabag", gives a riotously unhinged performance as Lady Isabella, while director Sam Abrahams brilliantly utilizes the mockumentary format to fashion a comic narrative that plays out like an unholy communion of Grey Gardens, Sunset Boulevard, and "Ab Fab" at its most absurd.
