With anti-immigrant violence in Tunisia increasing, three Ivorian women struggle to build meaningful lives and stay safe from xenophobia and deportation. Kind pastor Marie (Aïssa Maiga) shares her home with Naney (Deborah Lobe), a fierce young mother who has been separated from her child for three years, and Jolie (Laetitia Ky), a level-headed university student. The already precarious lives of these women are complicated further by the unexpected arrival of Kenza (Estelle Dogbo), a newly orphaned child survivor from a migrant shipwreck. This makeshift family must decide how to care for themselves and each other despite their circumstances being increasingly stacked against them. "We will share the wish." Sehiri's sophomore feature, Promised Sky had its world premiere at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, where it opened the Un Certain Regard section.
