For the two Sunday mornings during the Festival, you can share a bond with your fellow theatergoers unlike anywhere else. SIFF will present an elusive piece of the programming certain to astonish, and never to be recounted outside the cinema’s walls. Perhaps it could be an international picture, archival gem, unofficial debut, or a feature made right here in Seattle. Each attendee must sign an NDA prior to attending a Secret screening and swear an oath to never divulge their filmic findings.

Secret Fest first snuck on the scene in 1983, with the film [REDACTED]. In a year when regularly priced tickets went for $4.50, SIFF organizers sold Secret Fest tickets for just a single dollar to test the waters on this brand-new program. It was a total hit, and Secret Fest has since become a gem of the Seattle film scene.

Catch this year’s Secret Fest screenings on the two Sundays of the Festival, May 10 and 17, at 11:00am sharp! As the 1983 SIFF catalog put it, “IF YOU’RE SMART, YOU’LL SHOW UP.”
