SIFF’s Cinema Italian Style festival returns to celebrate some of the biggest names in Italian cinema – tickets on sale now

SIFF’s weeklong Italian film festival returns for its 13th year, showcasing a fascinating lineup of 13 films
SEATTLE (October 21, 2021) – Tickets are on sale now for SIFF’s Cinema Italian Style festival. In honor of its 13th season, this year’s event will offer 13 fascinating contemporary Italian films as part of a celebration of Italian culture.
“Seattle loves this festival,” says SIFF’s Artistic Director, Beth Barrett. “And it’s no wonder: these films are passionate, heartbreaking, funny, inspiring, and thought-provoking. They’re 13 wonderful ways to celebrate the festival’s 13th year.”
The festival will include in-person introductions and pre-recorded Q&A sessions for select films.
The opening film, The Macaluso Sisters, follows the lives of five sisters whose world is turned upside down by a sudden, unexpected tragedy that tests the bonds of their family. The film will screen November 4 at 7 p.m. at the SIFF Cinema Egyptian.
Additional films include The Inner Cage, a tense prison drama starring Toni Servillo; Ezio Bosso, the Things That Remain, a portrait of Italy’s legendary composer; and David di Donatello winning film The Predators, a black comedy about the collision of two families from opposing social backgrounds.
Closing out Cinema Italian Style is The Hand of God, where legendary director Paolo Sorrentino turns his lens to the formative experiences of his Neapolitan youth in this funny, moving, and deeply personal story of heartbreak and liberation.
