SIFF reveals art & announces venues for the 50th Seattle International Film Festival

Local theaters join SIFF venues to host in-person screenings as art is revealed for the festival, screening May 9-19 across Seattle

SEATTLE – The 2024 Seattle International Film Festival returns in person May 9-19 & virtually on the SIFF Channel May 20-27, celebrating its golden birthday and the 50 years of surprising cinema it has brought to the city of Seattle. Today, SIFF announced its Festival venues and revealed the 2024 Festival poster art created with longtime partner WONGDOODY.

“This milestone year is a celebration of the incredible cinema from around the world that the Seattle International Film Festival has brought to our city for half a century, and the audiences who continue to be surprised and delighted by film,” said SIFF Artistic Director Beth Barrett, “SIFF is excited for our 50th birthday and to celebrate the great films and experiences that have made the Festival a cornerstone of the Seattle cultural landscape with the best audiences in the world.”

SIFF also announced the venues that will host the Festival’s programmed films as well as sites for the Opening and Closing Night Gala parties. In addition to its own theaters – SIFF Cinema Uptown, SIFF Cinema Egyptian, SIFF Film Center, and the newly opened SIFF Cinema Downtown – SIFF will also screen films at additional locations across Seattle.

“This year’s Festival is made even more special by the inclusion of our newest venue, SIFF Cinema Downtown,” said SIFF Executive Director Tom Mara. “And we’re very pleased to once again be partnering with The Paramount Theatre, AMC Pacific Place, Shoreline Community College, Majestic Bay Theatres, the Grand Hyatt Seattle, and MOHAI to bring films and events to Seattle in such an expansive way to celebrate our 50th year.”

The 50th Seattle International Film Festival will play in person May 9-19 at venues across Seattle and virtually on the SIFF Channel May 20-27. Passes and ticket packages are on sale now at siff.net. Individual tickets will go on sale to SIFF members on April 17, and to the general public on April 18, 2024.
