SIFF 2023 Captain’s Log

Captain’s Log, stardate 5202.3. Our destination is the SIFF movieverse, where every SIFFtronaut can win prizes for boldly going where no one has gone before!

Your trusty Captain’s Log enables you to track every film or shorts program you see at the 49th annual Seattle International Film Festival. As well, you can use your Log to win prizes based on the films you see or for visiting all six of our Festival venues.

How to use your Captain’s Log:

1. Print out the Printable Log PDF on this page, fold each page down the middle on the dotted line, and assemble the numbered pages into a booklet. Staple the spine for a gravity-proof Log. No printer at home? We’ll have limited amounts of pre-printed Captain’s Logs available at the SIFF Film Center May 12–21. Or, just use the Digital Log on your favorite device. 
2. Write the full name and email on your Log associated with your Elevent ticket-buying account.
3. Mark off every film and shorts program you see in person as you explore the SIFF movieverse. You can stamp your Log at each SIFF venue to document your arrival.
4. Visit all our venues or see enough films to reach a New Frontier? Mark that too!
5. Want to be eligible to win out-of-this-world prizes? Submit your Captain’s Log between May 22–28 in one of three ways:

I. Post a photo of your Log (front and back) to Instagram with the hashtag #SIFF2023 and tag @siffnews.

II. Email a photo/file of your Log (front and back) with your full name to captainslog@siff.net.

III. Drop off your Log with your full name and email at the SIFF Film Center (305 Harrison Street) Monday–Friday, 10:00am–5:00pm.

Each New Frontier reached will earn you a SIFF Cinema voucher, valid for most regular priced shows year-round. Ground Control will be verifying attendance through your online account, so keep it honest, cadets! ​​Visit our Pass and Voucher Exclusions page for details on voucher exceptions.

Don’t worry if your 2023 journey is just a quick trip around the sun—every SIFFtronaut who submits a used Log between May 22–28 will be entered to win one of three incredible prizes: a Festival Logo Fleece Zip-Up ($80 value), a SIFFtronaut Pullover Hoodie ($80 value), or a SIFF Cinema Pass ($300 value)!

Only Logs submitted with the full name and email associated with the Logger’s Elevent ticket buying account will be eligible to win prizes. Only films watched during the in-person festival May 11-21 will count towards New Frontiers.
