Oscar Nominees 2023 x SIFF

Wednesday, January 25, 2023

At the end of the year, cinephiles tally their Letterboxd lists, share their top picks, and complete their #NowWatching threads. Oscar season is just one facet of the film industry, but we relish it as a chance to reflect on the past year of moviegoing.

Returning to cinemas let us unite to enjoy the spectacle of Fire of Love on the big screen, connect a young Marcel the Shell with Shoes On fan with director Dean Fleischer Camp over Zoom, and transport our members to the multiverse of Michelle Yeoh in Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Friends and families reunite to discuss the thought-provoking Women Talking in the Uptown lobby, or wipe away a few tears on exiting Aftersun. It's a privilege to present these films at our festivals and in our year-round cinemas, and we're proud of the recognition they've received.

Here's the full list of 95th Academy Award nominees, highlighting the films SIFF has featured (* Asterisk indicates films that have played at SIFF Cinema. Bold indicates films that have screened as part of the Seattle International Film Festival.):
