Sixteen-year-old Dídac spends a summer cycling along the Danube with his parents and two younger siblings. The journey retraces a trip his mother once made, setting the rhythm of the family's days. His mother, an actress preparing for a new role, and his father, an architect who insists on stopping to admire buildings along the way, shape the family's routine as they travel. But everything shifts when an unexpected encounter disrupts their carefully balanced world. One day, a mysterious boy appears in the river. His enigmatic presence awakens new emotions in Dídac—handsomely portrayed by newcomer Jan Monter—and subtly unsettles the family's dynamics. From its enthralling opening—an energetic, impressionistic sequence following the family cycling along the Danube—director Jaume Claret Muxart, in his debut feature, captures the sensations of summer with remarkable sensitivity. Through an assured balance of camera work, editing, and score, the film vividly evokes the heat of the sun, the coolness of the water, and the sensuality of the bodies. Blending memories of family vacations with the uncertainties of adolescence, it captures that precious, fleeting moment suspended between childhood and adulthood—when first love, self-discovery, and the realization of a life-changing transformation quietly begin to unfold.
