Scarecrowber: The Abominable Dr. Phibes
October 7, 2025
A proper kick-off, Dr. (of music and theology) Phibes mimics the G'tach—the ten lethal plagues of Egypt—with intentions of vengeance against the doctors and nurses responsible for a botched operation that resulted in the death of his wife.

Or at least that is the premise (since the plagues are not precisely what you'd find in the Old Testament). Each convoluted murder, more outrageous than the last! Directed by Robert Fuest (who was responsible for a handful of the finest Avengers episodes) and starring the legendary Vincent Price along with Joseph Cotten, Caroline Munro (fleetingly, as Phibes' wife) and—in one of her only film-roles—the luminous Virginia North. "Nine killed her! Nine will die!" What about the tenth plague? That one? Saved for the resurrection of the Mrs.
