The Open Road: Beavis and Butt-Head Do America (35mm)

USA | 1996 | 81 min. | Mike Judge

December 3, 2026

Waking to discover their beloved television set has been stolen, dimwitted delinquents Beavis and Butt-Head leave their squalid dwellings to embark on a couch potato road trip in the hopes to finally score.

Shaken awake by a typically anxiety-addled Beavis with the terrible news that their beloved television set has been stolen, fellow slacker Butt-Head slowly pieces together a horrifying new reality: this sucks. No longer able to coast on the waves of MTV, the dimwitted delinquents exit their squalid dwellings in a desperate search that quickly entangles them in a plot to “do” a seedy criminal’s wife for a sizable sum. Hoping to finally score, the couch potatoes embark on a national quest from Las Vegas to Washington, DC. From underground animation to Hollywood extravaganza to further revivals, Mike Judge’s giggling mouth breathers remain an unshakable presence in the cultural milieu of America with their evergreen image of slackerdom and distinctly ‘90s charm. All roads lead to the Great Cornholio.
