Legacy giving is an empowering form of philanthropy. By planning a future gift to SIFF, you ensure that your passion for the cinematic experience and storytelling will continue to have a lasting impact. Your gift furthers our mission, while you enjoy financial benefits for yourself.

WHAT IS A PLANNED GIFT?

A planned or legacy gift is a donation that you arrange in the present but is allocated at a future date. Most often, this is done through your estate planning. Typical planned gifts include:

Bequest: A bequest is a gift made through your will or trust. It is one of the most popular and flexible ways to support SIFF in the future.

IRA Rollover: If you are age 70½ and older, you can reduce your taxable income by making a gift directly from an IRA.

Beneficiary Designations: Life Insurance, IRAs, 401k Plans, bank accounts and other retirement funds need a beneficiary designation. You can designate SIFF as a beneficiary of a retirement, investment or bank account or your life insurance policy.

JOIN THE CLOSING CREDITS CIRCLE

When you designate a planned gift to SIFF, you become a part of our Closing Credits legacy group. Members of the Closing Credits Circle receive special recognition in SIFF publications and invitations to special events including our annual meeting and an intimate thank you event.

HOW DO I MAKE A PLANNED GIFT?

We recommend that you work with your trusted financial advisor and attorney to determine the best planned gift vehicle for your circumstances. If you have any questions in the process, please contact us. We would be happy to assist you and answer any questions that you have.

The following text can be used by testators or attorneys when drafting bequest language for gifts to SIFF. Before revising the bequest language, if you wish to restrict a particular gift, please contact giving@siff.net for more specific language.

BEQUESTS TO SIFF

Bequest for a Fixed Dollar Amount

"I give to SIFF, a Washington not-for-profit corporation (TIN 91-1489660), the sum of _______ dollars ($____) to be used for unrestricted purposes [or specify purpose]."

Bequest of Specific Property

"I give to SIFF, a Washington not-for-profit corporation (TIN 91-1489660), [description of property] to be used for unrestricted purposes [or specify purpose]."

Bequest of Residual Estate

"I give to SIFF, a Washington not-for-profit corporation (TIN 91-1489660), ____ percent (____%) of the residue of my estate to be used for unrestricted purposes [or specify purpose]."
