CODE OF CONDUCT

SIFF believes in film's unique power to share original stories, diverse perspectives, and rich emotional journeys. Beginning in 1976 with the annual Seattle International Film Festival, expanding into SIFF Education, and most recently operating our year-round five-screen SIFF Cinema, we have provided experiences that bring people together to discover extraordinary films from around the world. Our distinctly smart audiences allow us to take risks, host complex conversations, and truly appreciate film.

To that end, all attendees, staff, filmmakers, guests, sponsors and volunteers at all SIFF events and screenings are required to comply with the following policy leading up to and throughout the entire event. There is a zero-tolerance policy for violations of this policy. Anyone not complying with this policy will have their pass/tickets confiscated immediately without refund at the sole discretion of SIFF Staff. SIFF also reserves the right to ban the violator from future events. This policy exists to ensure a safe environment for all SIFF participants and attendees.

HARASSMENT POLICY

SIFF is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for EVERYONE, regardless of gender, gender identity & expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religion. This applies to all interactions between participants & attendees. SIFF will absolutely not tolerate harassment in any form.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to: offensive comments related to gender, gender identity & expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of programs, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Those who are asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If they do not, SIFF reserves the right to remove them from the premises and bar them from future events without a refund. Harassment claims will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, at the discretion of SIFF management.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of staff IMMEDIATELY. If you do not see a staff member, please contact Executive Director, Sarah Wilke at sarah.wilke@siff.net

SIFF staff members are happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement and otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the festival. We value your attendance, and we want everyone to enjoy all that SIFF has to offer.
