After an all-virtual event in 2021, SIFF 2022 will offer unique hybrid experience for filmgoers

SEATTLE, WA (February 9, 2022) – Following an all-virtual event last year, the 48th Seattle International Film Festival will return April 14–24 with a hybrid event that includes both in-person and virtual screenings. The 11-day festival will present the best in international and independent films from around the globe – with screenings at SIFF theaters and venues throughout the city as well as virtually on the SIFF Channel.

“The Seattle International Film Festival encompasses everything that SIFF stands for,” said SIFF’s Artistic Director Beth Barrett. “We want to connect people to the experiences of others, to revel in great stories, and to create experiences designed for film lovers. The spring Festival is an 11-day celebration of film’s power to delight and transform – to inspire, provoke, and connect us to our community and the world.”

The Seattle International Film Festival is consistently ranked as one of the top audience festivals in North America, and is an Academy Award-qualifying film festival for short films. SIFF began as an event designed for Seattle filmgoers, renowned for their strong support for independent cinema. For nearly five decades, Seattle audiences have proven themselves to be among the best in the country, deeply engaged with film and filmmakers, appreciative of all genres, and excited to be in the community around film.
