SIFF's Holidays on Ice program features eleven classic films to inspire you to lace up your skates!

What: Holidays On Ice
Where: SIFF Film Center
When: NOV 23 - DEC 16

SEATTLE—November 1, 2018— SIFF holiday programming is getting a huge reboot this year with our new Holidays On Ice program inspired by Seattle's (and our!) swirling excitement over possible confirmation of a professional hockey franchise by the National Hockey League in December! In partnership with Washington Healthplanfinder, NHL Seattle, and the Seattle Center, we're presenting eleven of our favorite films to hit the ice, from November 23 through December 16.

This is the third year that Washington Healthplanfinder has sponsored SIFF holiday programming. In order to ensure that those winter sports injuries are covered, folks can access Washington Healthplanfinder's online marketplace, www.wahealthplanfinder.org, to find, compare, and enroll in health and dental plans. Open Enrollment through Washington Healthplanfinder is going on now through December 15.

As part of NHL Seattle's commitment to making Seattle's hockey dreams come true, they are generously sponsoring Holidays On Ice. "We are excited to join SIFF as a sponsor of Holidays On Ice," said Tod Leiweke, CEO and President, NHL Seattle. "As the city transforms for the holiday season and we gear up for Seattle to possibly join the NHL as its 32 franchise, we can't wait to see some of the best movies on ice!" While the much-anticipated Seattle Center Arena project gets underway next door (not to mention a new practice facility in Northgate, boasting three NHL regulation ice rinks and a major retail and community center for ice sports), NHL Seattle will be hosting exciting interactive activities at the Film Center on select dates throughout Holidays On Ice.

Our Holidays On Ice would be incomplete without the ice! Seattle Center is partnering with SIFF to create SIFFcapade days for the whole family. "We are pleased to partner with SIFF on this film series. Holidays On Ice brilliantly captures the spirit of the season and highlights a time-honored Seattle Center Winterfest tradition," said Seattle Center Production director John Merner.

Both the SIFF Film Center and the Winterfest Ice Rink will be offering discounts for anyone that wants to do both. A $2.00 off discount will be given at the Film Center for anyone with a special coupon from the ice rink, and they in turn, will offer a $1.00 discount to anyone with a ticket stub from a Holidays On Ice film. This offer can only be redeemed in person.

Artistic Director Beth Barrett wraps it up perfectly, "What better way to kick off winter, and the holiday season, than a celebration of classic films about ice - skating, curling, and playing hockey! From the tearjerkers to the comedies, with some hip checks for good measure, Holidays on Ice has something for everyone."
